Types of status of residency
There are 27 types of status of residency (visa). They are classified in accordance with the activities which foreigners entering Japan will engage in and their position.
For example, if a person who has acquired a degree from a scientific university in his/her own country and looks for a job that allows him/her to use that knowledge in Japan, the person needs to acquire the status of residence for “engineer”.
Moreover, if a person wants to work as a chef in Japan taking advantage of his/her experience working in a restaurant (e.g. Thai restaurant) in his/her own country, he/she needs to acquire the status of residence as a “skilled worker”.
As explained above, the status of residence is directly associated with an activity a person is going to engage in after he/she enters Japan. Therefore, it is important to determine what type of status of residence you acquire.
Please contact us by phone (+81-3-6432-9817) or from an inquiry form and discuss an ideal type of status of residence for you.
